Birch Mountain Enterprises (BME) is hiring experienced Hydrovac Operators for a Temporary 3 month contract, with the potential to become full-time. 14/7 Shift schedule, Days and Nights. (NO flights, NO Camp)

Job Summary: 

Operating from our Clients site location Fort McMurray the Hydro Vac Operator position involves the safe operation of a tri-drive hydro Vac unit.  Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather.  Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous hydro-vac experience in the industrial sector.   


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Operate Tri-drive hydro Vac units in a safe and efficient manner 
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather 
  • Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily log books, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections 
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor 
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures. 

Qualifications: 

  • Possess a valid Class 3 operator’s license with clean driver’s abstract 
  • Minimum 3 years experience (including up to 18 speed manual class 1 equipment)
  • Previous (or related) experience operating hydro Vac units 
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • OSSA (or OSSA BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification
  • H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance, Confined space and fall protection certification
  • Must be able to complete online training. 
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening
