Our organization, mission, and culture: The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums promotes lifelong learning for Alaskans through Alaska's diverse history, art & culture. As a librarian with special collections or archives experience, you'll play a crucial leadership role in the work of the Historical Collections of the Alaska State Library to preserve Alaska's published and unique cultural and historical resources and provide access to students, teachers, historical researchers, employees of the State of Alaska, and the general public. As part of a small, collegial, and cooperative Alaskan library community, you'll also have the opportunity to cooperate with libraries, archives and museums throughout Alaska on projects and provide training and mentoring both directly and through professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college in library or information science, media services, or a closely related field; AND Two years of journey level professional librarian experience. This experience is met by service as a Librarian 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
