Job description

Landscape Installation Foreman

This position is available to self-motivated problem solvers looking to join a quality focused company. Foremen will oversee a crew of 2-4 team members, ensuring projects are completed on time and in a safe manner.
Administrational Responsibilities:

1. Accurately keep track of your crew’s daily times and job times.
2. Ensure weekly inspections and maintenance are completed on assigned truck, trailer, and equipment. Any discrepancies, broken equipment, missing equipment, etc. are reported appropriately.
3. Ensure proper notifications are left behind with residential customers following visits; sod care and plant care guides.
4. Document materials used and ensure material purchases are acquired under proper PO’s.
Operational Responsibilities:

1. Supervise safe operation of all equipment assigned to your crew.
2. Operate trenchers, excavators, skid steers, bed edgers, laser levels, and other various equipment.
3. Take ownership of the projects assigned to you to ensure they are completed under budget and up to quality standards.
4. Report any damage to landscape (damaged trees, declining plant material, damaged property) to your manager immediately.
5. Execute projects assigned while meeting man hour and material budgets.
6. Ensure assigned equipment is in safe working order by performing basic preventive maintenance.
Leadership Responsibilities:

1. Follow and enforce company policies.
2. Lead by example. Conduct yourself as a professional at all times.
3. Promote a safe work environment. Understand company safety policies and ensure they are enforced. Report any accidents or unsafe work conditions in a timely manner.
4. Forman will be directly responsible for assigned crew in mentoring roles.
Requirements:

1. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape installations.
2. Must be proficient in installing sod, mulch, retaining walls, patios, low voltage lighting, irrigation repairs, plant installation, drainage, and grading.
3. Must be able to operate track loader, mini excavator, trencher, and various other compact equipment.
4. Must be able to operate a transit/laser level.
5. Must have a clean NCDL.
6. Must pass a background check.
7. Have leadership skills and work well with a team.
8. Must have that ability to efficiently lead a team safely, while ensuring team members remain productive and downtime remains at minimum.
9. Must be a problem solver that requires minimum supervision.
10. Must have the ability to follow all company polices and lead your crews BY EXAMPLE.
11. Must have the ability to pass safety and driver training courses within 180 day new hire period.
12. Must have the ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
