Job description

Dewberry's Raleigh, NC office is currently seeking an Entry Level Site/Civil Engineer to support site/civil and utility engineering functions associated with projects throughout North Carolina. This position will work in a multi-disciplined team environment with designers, landscape architects, and professional engineers to prepare site/civil and utility construction drawings. Clients may include, but will not be limited to universities, local government, federal government, municipal government, and private land developers.

  • Civil/Site development including grading design; roadway design; storm water management systems design; sanitary sewer design, water design, and erosion and sediment control design
  • Work with a Professional Engineer in preparing all associated drawing packages, deliverables, calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Work on design teams in collaboration with other disciplines to achieve project goals and deadlines.
  • Work is fast-paced and diverse, ranging from general civil engineering duties to technical work that requires strong communication and capabilities in AutoCAD, Civil3D, MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam.
  • Position will require learning and becoming proficient in Dewberry engineering practices and standards and quality reviews of assigned tasks.

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be eligible to obtain the EIT license within 6 months.
  • 0-2 years of design experience related to site development projects.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Able to work on teams on different task and meets project deadlines.
  • Work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Composes technical reports, permit documents, memorandums and other written communication such as email.
