Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of Professional Fee (ProFee) coding experience.
  • Experience coding across multiple physician specialties, with strong Orthopedic and Podiatry coding expertise preferred.
  • Must be available to work full-time.
  • High School Diploma required (must be submitted with profile).
  • Coding certification verification must be included with submission or profile will be rejected.
  • Proficiency with Athena, Cerner, and Epic EMR systems. WHAT OTHER SYSTEMS THEY HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH
  • Must have a laptop and dual-monitor setup to support remote work.
  • CPC license required

Position Summary:

The Senior Professional Fee Coder is responsible for the accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for physician professional services across multiple specialties, with a primary focus on Orthopedics and secondary focus on Podiatry. The coder will review clinical documentation to ensure complete, compliant, and accurate code assignment while maintaining a coding accuracy rate of 95% or greater.

Responsibilities include abstracting and validating coding and charge data Health electronic medical record systems, ensuring compliance with Official Coding Guidelines, CPT coding standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.

The coder will work collaboratively with providers, HIM, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Revenue Cycle, and other operational teams to support accurate reimbursement, reduce denials, and improve documentation quality. Additional duties may be assigned by leadership as needed.

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Regional Coding Manager.
