POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Primary responsibility will be to code professional components for all diagnostic imaging modalities in the Radiology Department. 
  • Provide feedback, education and training to teammates, vendors and occasionally providers regarding clinical documentation. 
  • Provide real-time feedback to leadership as it pertains to proper coding and clinical documentation of services performed. 
  • Engage in provider/department contact and education as the primary liaison for clarification of documentation and coding for radiological procedures including documentation deficiencies. 
  • Focus their work on radiological procedures as well as being an immediate liaison to documentation improvement and optimization of physician coding practices for compliance and revenue purposes. 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must Have Experience Coding Diagnostic Radiology and the ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with Radiology staff. 
  • 2+ years of coding and abstracting experience with CPT and ICD-10 preferred.
  • Certification through the American Health Information Management Technician (AHIMA) as one of the following: Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), or certified through the American Association of Procedural Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Experience and proficiency in Radiology coding required.

COMPENSATION: The hourly range for this position is $24.00-$27.00.
