First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson
Nursery Aide Staff

You will have the opportunity to work with young children alongside another adult to provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children, ages 0-5, while at our Church, during Sunday morning worship.
Pay: $20 per hour
Childcare hours include every Sunday 9:30 am to 11:30 am. You may have the option to work other church events, i.e. Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Christmas Eve, Vacation Bible School, choir concert etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Care for and support the needs of children from 0-5 years old
  • Assist Sunday School teachers if no children attend nursery.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 5 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities
  • High School Diploma or GED.

REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 21 years of age as required by NYS Law
  • Completion of Child Protection Policy Training and background check
  • First Aid training
  • Completion of CPR training for infants and children
  • Must adhere to First Presbyterian Church of Port Jefferson Child Protection Policy
  • Cleaning or straightening the room and cleaning any toys before leaving.
