Chemical Technician

Job Duties:

  • Perform chemical analysis on fuels, oils and lubricant samples using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM and TIP's. Performs analyses on samples;
  • Prepare solutions for various tests; transfers samples from one area to another in the lab;
  • Maintains workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis per SOP's and TIP's and test procedures;
  • Performs daily calculations; Plots graphs and charts as needed; Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 40 hour work week required.

Requirements:

  • Must be a self starter with attention to detail, and be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have a computer and laboratory skills and basic hand tool knowledge.
  • Must be able to operate laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, filtering apparatus and working with laboratory fume hoods. Must have a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic chemistry and lab PPE knowledge is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, and working outdoors.
  • May need to walk between sites on a 1200-acre property.
