Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Attorney to lead and manage a team of Case Managers and Assistant Case Managers in a high-volume pre-litigation environment (likely personal injury or insurance-related practice). This is a full-time, in-person role based in our office. The ideal candidate will combine strong legal acumen in pre-litigation with proven people-leadership skills to drive case outcomes, mentor the team, and maintain high standards of efficiency and client service.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bar Admission: Active license to practice law in California.
  • Experience:
    • 4+ years of hands-on pre-litigation experience (demand letters, settlement negotiations, discovery, insurance carrier dealings, etc.).
  • Core Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and settlement skills with a proven track record of achieving favorable resolutions pre-suit.
    • Excellent leadership and team development abilities; able to train, motivate, and hold Case Managers/Assistant Case Managers accountable.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills (clear, professional demand packages and client updates).
    • High-level organization and case management; able to oversee a high-volume docket while ensuring team compliance with deadlines and best practices.
  • Work Style: In-office presence required (not remote/hybrid). Reliable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Priorities for Top Candidates

  • Experience managing pre-litigation in plaintiff-side personal injury (auto, premises, slip-and-fall, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff, with measurable improvements in team performance/metrics.
  • Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Filevine).
  • Track record of handling complex or high-value cases pre-litigation.
  • Prior experience transitioning cases to litigation counsel when necessary.
  • Strong client communication skills and a client-first mindset.
