Job description

Night Customer Service Associate in our sales group fills a key role within the Operations Department by managing geographic regions during the overnight hours. Work alongside our Fleet Manager Group and drivers to develop solutions that provide excellent service customer service, solve problems and provide solutions to the customer. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Track freight for customers as requested.
  • Create customer reports and update throughout the shift.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls and questions from customers.
  • Resolve problems real-time and comomunicate any issues with day shift.
  • Plan trucks as needed throughout the shift.
  • Cultivate positive and productive relationships with customers and shippers.
  • Work with Fleet Managers and Drivers to ensure driver needs are met while providing excellent customer service.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Overnight availability required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred.

Abilities

Strong organizational, computer, and customer service skills required. Accurate typing up to 45 WPM.  Multitasking and a flexible schedule required.  Some weekend work will be necessary for this position.

Experience, Education, and Training

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in a Business or related field is preferred; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This position requires being able to sit and remain focused and motivated for long periods of time. Being able to multitask between the computer, phone, and different projects is required.

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. Call volume can be heavy at times. On-site attendance is required.
