Your Contribution
Conducts thorough investigations into digital incidents and security breaches. Involves the collection, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence to support legal proceedings and internal security measures while ensuring digital evidence is collected in a manner that maintains its integrity and admissibility in court, contributing to the organization's overall cybersecurity posture.
As part of our team, you will
  • Map threat intelligence information using frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK to align with real-world adversary tactics and techniques.
  • Develop detection rules in Microsoft Sentinel to spot attacker behavior.
  • Tune and reduce noise and false positives across Cyber tools such as MDE.
  • Threat modeling to identify potential attack weaknesses.
  • Validate coverage and effectiveness of tools and protections.

Prerequisites for your success in this role
  • Understanding of forensic science and methodologies for data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations pertaining to digital evidence and data privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Skilled in various Cyber platforms and log telemetry
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux and network protocols.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering, Information technology, Business Management or related field.
  • 2- 5 years experience in related field required

Your work environment
  • The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado or at our HUB in Perth, Australia.
  • Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
  • The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

Work Environment, Pay & Benefits:
This position is based in either our Denver, CO corporate headquarters or our Perth, Australia HUB with flexibility for hybrid work. The base salary range is $86,500-$115,300 (reflecting market rates and your qualifications). The final base pay offer will be based on individual factors such as your experience, and skills - we do not ask for or use your prior pay in setting your compensation. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance. Newmont provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health savings/reimbursement accounts, 401(k), pension, paid time off, and family leave.
