The Lodi Board of Education is seeking the following:
POSITION: NETWORK SUPPORT SPECIALIST
LOCATION: Lincoln School
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four-year college degree in CS / CIS
• 5+ years' experience as network administrator / server administrator required
• Experience with Cisco or Fortinet switches and wireless networking required
• Working knowledge of Windows operating system and applications, Mac OS and applications, iOS and applications, Chrome OS and Chromebooks
• Must have demonstrated competency: Windows networking, Apple / iPad equipment, file servers, print servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, software deployment technologies, backup / storage management, OS imaging, virtualization
• Google G Suite experience a plus
• Demonstration of sound decision making in accomplishment of goals
• Ability to appropriately communicate with students, teachers, administrators, and vendors
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail, approaching work in a meticulous and thorough manner
• Ability and interest in learning new technology in a rapidly moving environment
• Ability to run and terminate Ethernet Cabling
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Maintain local area network (LAN) including switches and wireless access points
• Handle support calls and or emails from administration and staff
• Install software and operating system updates
• Troubleshoot software (e.g. server, client machines, spyware, virus, user rights) and hardware (e.g. cables, switches, and components) issues for staff and students
• Performs hardware repair where practical on desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, Smartboards, etc.
• Research solutions to technology problems including new hardware and software technologies to support educational mission, update and maintain IT infrastructure
• Assist in the planning, purchasing, installing, maintenance, and inventory of computers and related hardware / software
• Serve as resource to staff in answering questions and assisting in effective utilization of technology as well as basic training
• Requires well-developed sense of strategy and timing in a fast-paced environment as well as skill in patience and listening
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Reports to District Director of Technology
Physical Requirements:
• These requirements are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal.
• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must regularly lift equipment.
Salary: $70,000; Negotiable commensurate with experience
