Job description

Overview
We are seeking experienced Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineers to support a mission-critical enterprise network environment operating 24/7/365. This role is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale IP and transport networks that enable secure communications across geographically dispersed locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with network operations, circuit management, routing and switching technologies, and incident response within a NOC environment. Candidates with backgrounds in telecommunications, cyber transport, network operations, or enterprise infrastructure support are highly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
Monitor and manage enterprise network infrastructure to ensure maximum availability and performance.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network outages, degradations, and service disruptions.
Perform network configuration changes and support maintenance activities across routers, switches, optical transport devices, and related infrastructure. Execute real-time circuit rerouting and restoration activities during planned and unplanned outages.
Utilize network monitoring and management tools to identify, isolate, and resolve issues proactively.
Document incidents, outages, escalations, and resolutions through established ticketing and change management processes. Coordinate with internal engineering teams, external partners, and operations personnel to restore services and minimize operational impact. Support hardware replacements, software upgrades, and network modernization initiatives.
Participate in shift turnover activities and maintain accurate operational logs. Follow established operational procedures, security requirements, and service level expectations. Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
Security+ CE certification (required).
Minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience, including at least 3 years supporting IP, transport, or telecommunications networks.
Experience working within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar operational environment. Strong understanding of:
TCP/IP networking
Routing and switching
Network troubleshooting
Circuit management
Network monitoring and fault isolation Experience with Cisco networking technologies.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Willingness to support a 24/7 shift schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications
CCNA, Juniper, or other networking certifications. Experience with:
MPLS
SONET/SDH
Optical Transport Networks (OTN)
Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)
Network management systems Experience using monitoring and ticketing platforms such as SolarWinds and Jira.
Background supporting telecommunications, transport networks, cyber transport operations, or technical control facilities. Familiarity with change management, performance management, and alarm surveillance processes. What We're Looking For
