Our client is looking Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer for Long term project in Omaha, NE (Onsite) Below is the detail requirement.
Job Title: Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer
Location: Omaha, NE (Onsite)
Second shift is 15:15 - 23:15 CDT; Third shift is 23:15 - 07:15 CDT.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to support, monitor, and maintain mission-critical communication and network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for network monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring high availability of telecom and operational systems. Experience with railway operations systems and telecommunications networks is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise and operational technology (OT) network infrastructure from the NOC environment.
  • Perform proactive monitoring, fault detection, troubleshooting, and resolution of network incidents.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to routers, switches, firewalls, and network connectivity.
  • Support microwave radio communication systems and associated backhaul infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with telecom vendors, ISPs, and third-party service providers to resolve network and connectivity issues.
  • Analyze network performance and recommend improvements to ensure reliability and system availability.
  • Manage incidents, problem tickets, escalations, and service restoration activities in accordance with defined SLAs.
  • Perform system administration activities on Linux-based servers and applications.
  • Support network maintenance activities, software upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Prepare incident reports, root cause analyses, and operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and field support teams to maintain operational continuity.
  • Participate in on-call support and shift-based operations as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Network Operations Center (NOC), telecommunications, or network support environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including:
    • TCP/IP
    • Routing and Switching
    • VLANs
    • DNS/DHCP
    • VPNs
    • Network Monitoring Tools
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and network infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Telecom Carrier, ISP, WAN, or enterprise connectivity environments.
  • Knowledge of microwave radio communication systems.
  • Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting railway or transportation communication systems.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Positive Train Control (PTC)
    • Centralized Traffic Control (CTC)
    • Rail Operations Communication Networks
  • Familiarity with SCADA, operational technology (OT), or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.
  • Industry certifications such as:
    • CCNA / CCNP
    • CompTIA Network+
    • Linux Certifications (RHCSA, LPIC, Linux+)
