Position Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test our most demanding, cross-functional networking projects. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions, and have a deep understanding of system inter-dependencies and limitations. Key responsibilities include researching and benchmarking Amazon technology against competing systems, contributing intellectual property through patents, and mentoring others on advanced technical issues. Assist in career development, guiding team members' growth and help managers navigate their team's career trajectory.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must have three years of experience in the following skills: (1) working with interior and exterior IP routing protocols, technologies, and platforms in a large scale data center, LAN, or WAN network environment; 2) developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network or networking systems; 3) responding to customer impacting events including mitigating and performing root cause analysis of those events; and 4) automation via Perl or Python programming.
