Negotiation Remote information

What is a negotiation remote?

A Negotiation Remote job involves professionals who manage negotiation processes, such as contracts, deals, or conflict resolution, from a remote location rather than in a traditional office setting. These roles require strong communication, analytical, and persuasion skills, as well as the ability to work effectively using digital tools and platforms. Remote negotiators may work in various industries, including sales, procurement, legal, or human resources, and are responsible for achieving mutually beneficial agreements while working from home or another remote location.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote negotiator?

To thrive as a Remote Negotiator, you need expertise in negotiation strategies, conflict resolution, and a relevant educational background such as business, law, or communications. Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms, CRM software, and contract management systems is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and clear written and verbal communication set outstanding negotiators apart in remote settings. These abilities are crucial for building trust, reaching mutually beneficial agreements, and maintaining productive relationships despite geographic distance.

What are some common challenges faced by negotiation professionals working remotely, and how can they overcome them?

Negotiation professionals working remotely often face challenges such as building rapport without in-person cues, managing time zone differences, and ensuring clear communication during virtual discussions. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to leverage video conferencing tools for face-to-face interaction, prepare thoroughly by researching cultural and organizational backgrounds, and establish clear agendas for each meeting. Regular check-ins and transparent communication can also help maintain trust and momentum throughout the negotiation process.

What is the difference between Negotiation Remote vs Contract Negotiator?

Is it possible to negotiate remote work?

Negotiation for remote work is common in many roles, including negotiation specialists. Candidates can discuss remote work options during the hiring process or performance reviews, especially if they demonstrate strong communication skills and relevant experience. Employers may be flexible based on job requirements, team needs, and company policies.

Job description

Independent Executive Search Consultant (1099) — Remote

Augmentis | Boutique Executive Search & Talent Augmentation Houston, TX (Remote — Nationwide)

About Augmentis

Augmentis is the executive search and talent augmentation arm of The Work In Me, LLC, a Houston-based firm with 18+ years in the recruiting industry. We specialize in placing Accounting, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering professionals — primarily serving energy, manufacturing, aerospace, and PE-backed companies across the United States.

We're not a staffing mill. We're a boutique firm built on consultative client relationships, strategic search methodology, and a commitment to quality over volume. Our partners get the infrastructure and brand support of an established firm with the autonomy and earning potential of running their own desk.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Independent Executive Search Consultants to join our growing team as 1099 partners. Whether you're an experienced full-desk recruiter ready to go independent, an agency recruiter looking to break free from a W-2 structure, or a corporate recruiting professional ready to transition into search — we want to talk to you.

This is a full-desk role. You'll develop client relationships, manage job orders, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews, negotiate offers, and manage placements. You'll operate under the Augmentis brand with full support — CRM/ATS access, collaboration tools, sourcing partner support, and hands-on mentorship from our Managing Partner.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage client relationships across target industries (energy, manufacturing, aerospace, PE-backed companies, and more)
  • Own the full recruitment lifecycle: job order intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and placement management
  • Execute both permanent/direct-hire executive searches and temporary/contract placements
  • Maintain real-time activity logs, candidate tracking, and deal progress in our CRM
  • Collaborate with Augmentis leadership and sourcing partners on active searches
  • Represent the Augmentis brand with professionalism and consultative expertise

Compensation Structure

This is a commission-based independent contractor (1099) partnership with one of the most competitive structures in boutique search:

Permanent Placements:

  • 50% commission on your first three successful placements — designed to get you earning quickly
  • Tiered commission accelerators after your third placement, scaling up to 70% based on annual production
  • Full-desk ownership (you develop the client AND source the candidate) = 100% production credit before commission calculation

Temporary / Contract Placements:

  • $400 placement commission per contractor placed on assignment
  • $15/week per active contractor for the duration of each assignment
  • Monthly calculation, paid semi-monthly

Additional Details:

  • All commissions paid via ACH direct deposit, semi-monthly (1st and 15th)
  • 12-month candidate ownership rights on candidates you source
  • 18-month client ownership rights on clients you originate
  • Sourcing partner support available — Independent Sourcing Partners handle candidate research so you can focus on client development and closing

What You Bring
  • Recruiting experience in any capacity — agency, corporate, RPO, or independent search (all levels of experience welcome)
  • Strong communication skills and a consultative, relationship-driven approach
  • Self-motivation and discipline to manage your own pipeline and production
  • Willingness to learn and follow a proven methodology (The Augmentis Method)
  • Reliable internet connection and a professional remote work setup
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to quality placements over quick transactions

Bonus (not required):

  • Experience recruiting in accounting, finance, procurement, engineering, or operations
  • Familiarity with the energy, manufacturing, or aerospace sectors
  • An existing book of business or client relationships
  • Experience with CRM/ATS platforms

Why Augmentis?
  • Autonomy with support — Run your desk your way, backed by 18+ years of industry expertise and infrastructure
  • Uncapped earning potential — Commission accelerators reward production, not politics
  • Full-desk ownership model — Your clients and candidates are yours, with clear ownership protections
  • Boutique culture — You're a partner, not a number. Direct access to firm leadership
  • Sourcing partner support — Dedicated sourcing partners to fuel your pipeline
  • Proven methodology — The Augmentis Method provides structured training for both recruiting fundamentals and business development
  • Remote flexibility — Work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Both perm and temp revenue streams — Build recurring income through contract placements alongside executive search fees
