Job description

The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking a responsible and detail-focused Legal Intern to support the Legal department during the Summer 2026 season. This part-time internship provides hands-on experience in legal operations and contract administration, with a primary focus on supporting the team’s contract management system, Summize and updating various contract templates.
This opportunity is well suited for law students or individuals interested in legal operations or business support functions who are eager to gain professional experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


  • Upload and organize contracts and legal documents within Summize.
  • Review documents to ensure key extracted information, including key dates and contract details, is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with revisions to contract templates for multiple departments.
  • Assist with quality checks to identify missing or inconsistent information.
  • Maintain organized and accessible digital contract records.
  • Support internal departments by helping them navigate and use Summize effectively.
  • Track contract milestones such as renewal and expiration dates.
  • Provide administrative support to the Legal department, including document management and data entry.
  • Partner with the IT team and the Summize vendor to support system integrations and help ensure APIs are functioning as expected, escalating issues as needed.
  • Assist with additional legal operations projects as assigned.

  • Currently enrolled in law school recently graduated, or pursuing coursework in legal studies, paralegal studies, business, or a related area.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow established processes.
  • Proficiency with basic office technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and tools.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Interest in legal operations, contracts, or administrative support functions.
  • Must be available to commit to at least 15-25 hours per week from May thru August 2026 internship period in Memphis, TN. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing documents and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 15 lbs. (e.g., moving files or boxes).
  • Manual dexterity for handling paper files and operating office equipment.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
