We are seeking an experienced and motivated Program Director (Contractor) to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will support all facets of 2027 NBA All-Star planning, execution and successful delivery of key cross-functional programs that deliver on our organizing principle and strategic objectives. The Program Director will partner closely with team members at all levels, including senior leadership, with external partners and citywide entities, and with the NBA and its designees to ensure alignment, accountability and measurable impact throughout planning, execution and post-event phases. Additionally, the Program Director will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, managing risks and dependencies, and ensure deliverables are on time, within scope and within budget. Your Role on the Team
  • Define and clearly communicate the vision, objectives, scope and success metrics aligned with the NBA All-Star organizing principles
  • Develop and manage comprehensive program plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations
  • Oversee multiple working groups and committees, ensuring alignment and interconnectedness of workstreams both internally and externally
  • Track program performance and efficiency, adjusting and refining consistently throughout planning and execution
  • Develop clear and consistent communications throughout all levels of the organization including regular progress reports and summaries, leading regular status meetings and executive updates
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for primary program stakeholders, facilitating collaboration while driving accountability in a positive, solution-oriented team environment
  • Identify critical or time sensitive issues and deliver proactive problem-solving, provide transparency around areas of risk and escalation of challenges when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team towards a common objective with a positive and collaborative leadership style
  • Strong organizational, analytical and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex plans into clear and succinct executive summaries
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and ability to influence at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization
  • Effective budgeting skills and financial and operational acumen
Experience/ Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Monday.com, etc.)
