Job Description
Cape Fox subsidiary, Kwaan Tech, LLC, is seeking a highly organized and motivated Software Engineer to join our team in support of a NAVSEA Naval Shipyard Support Office (NSSO) client. This role requires strong knowledge of software development, system integration, and Navy Shipyard IT systems, custom code, queries, and analytics applications, while developing and maintaining custom software applications and analytics tools, supporting IT system development, deployment, and integration, creating custom code, queries, and macros for ship maintenance metrics. This position is contingent upon award. Incumbents are encouraged to apply!
The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position is: $ 118,000 -133,000
The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits, including company holidays, paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as a 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
Core Duties:
  • Design and develop software applications
  • Perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process
  • Develop custom code, queries, macros, and data analytics applications in support of Ship Maintenance Performance Group (SMPG) mission
  • Support Ship Maintenance Community Corporate IT Software Suite development and maintenance
  • Assist in IT development, deployment, and release assessments
  • Develop software supporting corporate metrics, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Support ISD team with software portfolio decision-making and development
  • Implement data integration solutions across multiple shipyard IT systems
  • Support digital transformation initiatives and user experience analysis for IT systems
  • Develop Interactive Multi-Media Instruction modules for Project Management Fundamentals training
  • Participate in Digital Program Office reviews and IT management board meetings
  • Evaluate effectiveness of software application functionality and user training

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in software development or software engineering
  • Highly Desired Qualifications (If applicable)
    • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering
    • 4 years of experience with database development (SQL) and application programming
    • Experience with web development and data visualization tools
    • Experience supporting DoD or Navy IT programs
    • Familiarity with Naval Shipyard IT systems (AIM, N-MRO, Business Objects)
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
