Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to support Navy software modernization and integration efforts within the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) portfolio. This role offers a Hybrid schedule (typically 1–2 days onsite per week). Hybrid participation supports effective teamwork and engineering coordination; fully remote may be considered for highly qualified candidates outside the local region.

NIWC Pacific’s mission includes developing modern, secure, and reliable software systems that enable advanced command‑and‑control, data management, and mission‑support functions across Navy platforms. In this position, you’ll contribute to applications developed in C#, Angular, and modern object‑oriented frameworks that directly support mission‑critical operations, system interoperability, and data‑driven decision tools.

This role is ideal for engineers with strong C# fundamentals, experience developing web‑based or modular applications, and an interest in supporting Navy technology programs. You’ll work closely with government engineers, cross‑functional development teams, and HII technical staff to design, build, troubleshoot, and integrate new software features across distributed Navy systems. #LI-MJ1

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using C#.
  • Implement front‑end features and UI components using Angular 10 or higher.
  • Support NIWC Pacific software development, modernization, and integration activities.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, ensuring reliability in mission‑critical environments.
  • Follow secure coding practices, version control workflows, and configuration management standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative development efforts.
  • Support integration activities to ensure interoperability across distributed Navy systems.
  • Develop technical documentation, including design notes, workflow descriptions, and user‑facing material.
  • Contribute to testing events, demonstrations, and engineering reviews with NIWC Pacific and HII teams.
What you must have
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering); 0 years with a Master’s degree; or 6 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience developing front‑end components using Angular 10 or higher or a comparable modern TypeScript‑based framework.
  • Experience with object‑oriented programming concepts and modern software engineering practices.
  • Must have a current or active DoD SECRET clearance to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense software environments.
  • Experience developing advanced Angular components, services, or modular front‑end architectures.
  • Familiarity with secure coding standards and version control workflows (e.g., Git, branching strategies).
  • Understanding of distributed, modular, or microservice‑based architectures.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex software issues in multi‑system environments.
  • Experience working in collaborative, fast‑paced engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team coordination.
  • DoD Clearance
