Entry-Level Civil Estimator

Tek Civil Construction

Tek Civil Construction is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Entry-Level Civil Estimator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in civil construction estimating. While prior estimating experience is a plus, we are willing to train the right candidate and teach them how to prepare complete civil construction estimates from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for civil construction projects.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets, estimates, and bid proposals.
  • Request and analyze pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Organize and maintain estimating files and bid documentation.
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed.
  • Work directly with senior estimators and project managers to develop accurate project pricing.
  • Learn estimating procedures for utilities, drainage, water and sewer systems, paving, site development, earthwork, and other civil construction scopes.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills.
  • Experience with estimating or takeoff software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Agtek, HeavyBid, On-Screen Takeoff, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to read construction drawings is preferred but not required.
  • Construction, engineering, surveying, or estimating experience is a plus.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
