Job description

This Opportunity

he Global Technical Lead is WSP's foremost InEight platform authority within the Major Projects Delivery programme. The role exists to ensure that every InEight implementation across WSP is configured correctly, governed consistently, and built to a global standard that holds across regions, projects, and time. It combines deep technical expertise with quality assurance authority: no implementation proceeds to go-live without the Global Technical Lead's formal sign-off.

This role is the platform counterpart to the Global Implementation Lead. Where the Implementation Lead governs the deployment lifecycle and the broader MPD governance framework, the Global Technical Lead owns the platform itself,  its configuration standard, its access governance, and its technical integrity across the programme.

Your Impact

Key Responsibilities

Platform Governance & Configuration Standards

  • Define, own, and maintain the global InEight configuration standard across all WSP implementations.
  • Establish and govern the roles and permissions framework within WSP's InEight environment.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for all platform issues across regions and active implementations.
  • Ensure configuration standards are respected as the programme scales to additional regions and projects.

Implementation Quality Assurance

  • Co-lead detailed implementation planning with the Global Implementation Lead, jointly defining the technical approach for each project activation and issuing guidance to Regional Coordinators before configuration begins.
  • Conduct pre-configuration scope reviews to confirm alignment with the global standard before sessions begin.
  • Perform supervisory oversight during active configuration sessions and formal technical verification upon completion.
  • Own and enforce the configuration quality gate: implementations do not proceed to go-live without GTL sign-off confirming compliance with the global standard.

Train-the-Trainer Programme

  • Lead the Train-the-Trainer programme in coordination with InEight, covering all modules within WSP's implementation scope.
  • Define and administer trainer competency assessments for Regional Coordinators and SMEs.
  • Develop and maintain configuration guides, training materials, and technical reference documentation for regional use.

Vendor & Integration Coordination

  • Act as WSP's primary technical interface with InEight, representing platform requirements and escalating product issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with the IT Systems Architect on integration architecture between InEight, the corporate ERP (Horizon), and Primavera P6.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project management/controls roles, with a strong track record on complex, large-scale infrastructure or engineering projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in InEight across multiple modules, including Cost Control, Change Management, Document Control, and Schedule.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting InEight implementations: platform configuration, user and permission setup, and process development to fit the tool.
  • Experience developing configuration standards, governance frameworks, or deployment templates for consistent, repeatable platform rollout across multiple projects or organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience building the capability of platform users and trainers through structured training and knowledge transfer.
  • Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a global platform lead or technical standards role, with responsibility applying across regions or business units.
  • Familiarity with InEight integrations involving Primavera P6 and Oracle Horizon or equivalent ERP and scheduling systems.
  • Vendor-side or partnership experience with InEight, providing insight into product capabilities, roadmap, and escalation channels.

Key Interfaces

  • Global Implementation Lead: co-lead on implementation planning and joint governance of the deployment model.
  • Regional Technical Coordinators: direct technical oversight during implementations; quality gate authority.
  • Digital Coordinator: platform environment administration and data architecture alignment.
  • IT Systems Architect: integration design for ERP and scheduling platform connections.
  • InEight CSM Team: primary vendor interface; Train-the-Trainer co-lead; platform escalation.
  • Global Product Owner: programme governance, mandate alignment, and strategic direction.
