Position Details: We are expanding our NY State of Health Navigator Program and are seeking a FT Navigator to join our team. This position is Full-Time, 35 hours per week, Non-Exempt, $23.00-$23.50/hour with access to our comprehensive benefit offerings after the completion of our "orientation period"-90 days.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
The role of a Navigator is to assist individuals in completing the enrollment process for affordable Health Insurance through the NY State of Health. You will meet with families and individuals in person, conduct an interview/assessment and help them to enroll in the most affordable Health Insurance for their personal needs. This position requires you to travel within the community and meet with your clients.
  • Assist individuals, families, and businesses with enrolling in health insurance through the NY State of Health Marketplace, including applications, documentation, plan selection, and follow-up support.
  • Represent the program at outreach events throughout Onondaga County, including health fairs, schools, churches, and community events.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings for The Salvation Army and the NY State of Health.
  • Provide support to other Practical Assistance programs as needed.
  • Promote culturally responsive services while supporting the mission and strategic goals of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area Services.

To qualify for this career opportunity, an applicant should possess the following in order to be considered:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years of office experience by work or internship.
  • Strong Computer Skills to include Excel, MS Word & Outlook
  • Administrative skills
  • A valid NYS Driver License
  • Access to Private Transportation, This position can require the employee to drive to various locations throughout their scheduled work day.
  • Some flexibility for evening/weekend events
  • Ability to multi-task by completing more than one task at a time
  • Associates Degree, preferred
  • Bilingual, verbal and written a plus!
