Summary:
The Financial Navigator works with patients, various health care teams, and other stakeholders to maintain price transparency with healthcare estimates. Financial Navigators assist patients in obtaining their estimates accurately, timely, and compassionately. Additionally, advocates for patient and organizational financial stewardship by initiating financial resources.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Utilizes Epic Systems to manage and support the creation of estimates both insured and self-pay with strong communication, compassion, and attention to detail.
  • Obtains a strong understanding of the No Surprises Act and its healthcare implications for patient financial transparency.
  • Serves as a primary contact to patients, answering phone calls, voicemail, and patient requests from MyChart - providing excellent customer service skills to the Altru patient community and prospective clients.
  • Works with various health teams across the organization to help guide patients on financial resources, insurance options, and payment options.
  • Supports front-end collections and revenue cycle operations through strong collaboration, problem solving, and patient escalation mitigation.
  • Helps monitor estimate accuracy rate and works with leadership to develop initiatives to improve overall estimate accuracy performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

• Preferred: Associates - Related Field
