In the United States, national banks are overseen by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and are members of the Federal Reserve System. These banks can offer a wide range of banking services such as accepting deposits, making loans, and providing credit. National banks must follow federal regulations and are often larger and have more branches compared to state-chartered banks.
