GDIT's Diplomacy, Enforcement & Space (DES) Business Area is seeking a highly experienced Strategic Technical Advisor to help shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and position GDIT as a trusted partner to NASA. As a Strategic Technical Advisor, you will strengthen delivery across our NASA portfolio, support business growth, and help expand GDIT's presence across NASA centers and mission areas. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of NASA missions, established relationships with key NASA decision makers, and relevant experience managing major programs. You will help anticipate emerging NASA needs, guide technical direction and solution development, and promote GDIT's capabilities to ensure we continue to grow and deliver mission success.

Responsibilities:

Develop, refine, and support execution of the NASA business strategy in alignment with customer priorities and GDIT's strategic objectives.

Build and maintain relationships with NASA stakeholders, including leadership within mission directorates, centers, and program offices.

Support capture and business development teams by shaping technical solutions, identifying growth opportunities, and positioning GDIT for upcoming procurements.

Advise on NASA trends, emerging technologies, policy changes, and strategic risks related to human spaceflight, science missions, aeronautics, and enterprise services.

Participate in customer meetings, industry events, and NASA working groups to increase GDIT's brand visibility and strategic influence.

Collaborate with operations, solution architects, engineering, and delivery teams to define innovative approaches that address NASA's mission challenges.

Evaluate competitor strategies, market conditions, and customer feedback to recommend strategic adjustments or investments.

Provide mentorship and trusted insight to senior leaders within the DES Business Area.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or related field (master's degree preferred).

15+ years of experience supporting NASA or major federal science/engineering agencies.

Proven success managing or advising on large, complex federal programs.

Established relationships within NASA leadership, program management, or technical communities.

Strong understanding of NASA missions, organizational structure, procurement processes, and enterprise service needs.

Experience with federal proposal process, delivery and execution.

Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to executive audiences.

Ability to travel to NASA centers and GDIT locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with NASA enterprise IT, mission support, engineering services, or human spaceflight programs.

Prior leadership in government contracting or federal program strategy.

Technical depth in aerospace, cybersecurity, digital modernization, data systems, or enterprise transformation.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $102.00 - $138.00. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
