RECORDS CLERK (SEACOM) - SIERRA VISTA CLASSIFIED: Position is subject to the provisions of the Merit System Rules pursuant to Arizona Law. OPENS: Monday, July 27, 2026 CLOSES: Position is open until filled with applications reviewed upon receipt and may close at anytime. ANTICIPATED RATE OF PAY: $16.03 to $20.05 hourly dependent upon qualifications plus a comprehensive benefits package to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System

PLEASE NOTE: Successful candidate must pass an extensive background screening and fingerprint check. NATURE OF WORK: Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical support activities for the maintenance of SEACOM's records management and administration; performs related duties as assigned. Essential Functions As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics.

TYPICAL DUTIES: (Illustrative Only) Conducts cursory background checks using Spillman RMS for the purposes of employment backgrounds, Citizens Police Academy background; performs entries into the Arizona Crime Information Center (ACIC) and/or National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer system for items including warrants, stolen articles, stolen vehicles, stolen/lost guns, victims of identity theft, and missing persons; perform criminal history checks using ACIC/NCIC at the request of law enforcement (LE) and/or authorized records personnel for inclusion in Spillman incidents; retrieve and verify case/incident information using Spillman and/or case files to perform validation of warrant, Order of Protection/Injunction Against Harassment, stolen article, stolen vehicle, identity theft, and missing persons, in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC); ensures records are retained in compliance with the most recent Law Enforcement Records Retention Schedule issued by the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records; applies quality control standards to entries made in ACIC/NCIC by Public Safety Dispatchers and maintains performance standard scores. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; two (2) years general clerical office experience or completion of a course or program in office management or a closely related field; typing of 35 words per minute minimum; must be a minimum of 18 years of age; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's license and the ability to be covered by county insurance.

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: public records statutes and confidentiality requirements of LE records and information; authorized persons and extent of authorized information release; policies and procedures of SEACOM; department computer software for Spillman; English grammar and spelling. Skill in: searching for and retrieving data for the records system; proofreading and editing for grammar and spelling; accurately entering and verifying data and information into the police records system and NCIC/ACIC; using tact and diplomacy with diverse persons.

Ability to: establish and maintain effective working relationships; understand and follow written and oral directions; operate a variety of office equipment and software; work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands; read, write, and speak English; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to loud noises. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, large motor skills, and ability to communicate. Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects; involves sitting, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, feel or manipulate with hands.
