Job description

Account Executive – Radio & Digital Advertising

Albany Broadcasting | Albany, NY
$50,000 Base + Uncapped Commission (This is a Sales Career, Not a Desk Job)

This role is not for everyone — and that’s by design.

Albany Broadcasting is hiring a driven Account Executive to sell radio and digital advertising solutions to local businesses. If you are comfortable being uncomfortable, enjoy competition, and want your income tied to your effort, keep reading.

If you are looking for:

  • A remote role
  • A guaranteed paycheck without prospecting
  • A job where leads are handed to you

This position is not a fit.

What You’ll Be Expected to Do:

  • Proactively prospect new business every day
  • Make outbound calls, schedule meetings, and present in person
  • Create custom advertising strategies using radio + digital
  • Own your pipeline, follow-up, and results
  • Ask for the business and close deals
  • Build long-term client relationships through performance and trust

Who Succeeds Here:

  • Self-starters who don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Competitive people who like goals, scoreboards, and accountability
  • Strong communicators who can confidently speak with business owners
  • Organized sellers who manage activity and follow-through
  • People who view rejection as part of the process — not a deal-breaker

Experience Requirements:

  • B2B sales experience preferred
  • Media or digital advertising experience is a plus
  • No experience? You must be highly coachable, disciplined, and hungry

What We Offer:

  • $40,000 base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Structured onboarding, sales training, and digital support
  • Recognized local media brands with real market impact
  • A professional, fast-paced sales environment
  • Career advancement for consistent performers

Important Note:

This role requires daily outbound prospecting, in-person meetings, and personal accountability for results. If that excites you, we want to talk. If it doesn’t, this is not the right role.

Top performers thrive here. Average performers struggle.
