The Multimedia Consultant I provides audio, video, and telemedicine support for the educational, research, and patient care needs of Carilion Clinic. Ensures timely service for all levels of employees by developing, coordinating, and implementing projects through expertise in multimedia and project management. Designs and programs control systems, conference room technology, and room automation.
The Multimedia Consultant I
  • Anticipates service area needs and proactively presents innovative audiovisual solutions to management and stakeholders.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements multimedia projects from initiation through completion with limited supervision, including project timelines, communication materials, presentations, photography, videos, and workshops.
  • Provides recommendations regarding the design and development of system program controls supporting video, audio, and satellite teleconferencing presentations.
  • Evaluates and reviews video conferencing equipment, endpoints, contracts, and purchases related to telemedicine and audiovisual technologies.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and participates in professional activities to remain current with developments in audiovisual codecs, software, and transmission protocols including SIP and H323.
  • Maintains audiovisual equipment including software versions, firmware, upgrades, and new installations with limited supervision.
  • Applies and educates others regarding copyright laws and HIPAA regulations related to audiovisual materials.
  • Consistently complies with corporate branding, graphic standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with client staff to determine audiovisual infrastructure requirements for conference rooms, telemedicine solutions, and audiovisual system designs.
  • Assists with company meetings and functions requiring audiovisual infrastructure including conferencing, webcasting, projection systems, and AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
  • Responds to end-user requests through the Customer Help Desk ticketing system.
What We Require:
Education: Associate degree in a media-related field or 2 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field required.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: 1 of the following certifications required: Extron AV Associate Certification, Crestron Certified Programmer, Vidyo Technical Certification, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated project management, consultative, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Demonstrated photography, video production, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities required.

Compensation Range:
$23.97 - $35.96
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
