The Multimedia workstream leads the creation and execution of video, podcast, livestream, and visual storytelling initiatives that amplify GMF's research, convenings, and leadership programming. The workstream translates institutional priorities into compelling digital content, expanding audience reach and engagement across platforms. Through high-quality production, technical innovation, and brand-aligned storytelling, Multimedia supports GMF's mission by enhancing the accessibility, visibility, and impact of its ideas in a dynamic digital environment.

Job Summary:

The Multimedia Specialist supports GMF's digital communications and storytelling efforts through the production and delivery of high-quality multimedia content, including video, podcasts, and digital assets. This role works closely with communications, events, and programmatic teams to execute multimedia projects aligned with GMF's institutional priorities. The position contributes to the organization's visibility and audience engagement by ensuring timely, brand-consistent, and technically sound multimedia products across digital platforms.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Produce, edit, and deliver multimedia products, including short-form video, event recaps, interviews, and podcasts.

Support development and execution of multimedia content for GMF's website, social media channels, and email communications.

Prepare and manage video shoots and audio recordings, including equipment setup, participant coaching, and real-time troubleshooting.

Edit and post podcasts; assist with performance tracking and contribute to audience growth efforts.

Transform live, digital, and hybrid events into multimedia content suitable for digital distribution.

Convert written articles and reports into formatted PDF products for print and web distribution.

Ensure quality control and brand consistency across all multimedia outputs.

Stay current on evolving digital media tools, platforms, and trends to enhance production workflows.

Coordinate with and support external vendors and contractors as needed.

Collaborate with digital team members on multimedia components of newsletters, invitations, and other external communications.

Additional Duties/Responsibilities:

Support photography and graphic design needs for digital campaigns and events.

Assist in maintaining multimedia equipment and digital asset organization.

Contribute ideas to improve multimedia storytelling approaches and audience engagement.

Support cross-team initiatives requiring video or audio integration.

Autonomy and Responsibility:

The Multimedia Specialist works under the direction of the Senior Multimedia Manager. The role is responsible for independently executing assigned multimedia projects and managing production workflows within established brand and strategic guidelines. Decision-making authority includes recommending production approaches, managing timelines, and ensuring quality standards. The position does not carry direct supervisory responsibility but may coordinate vendors or contractors on a project basis. The role requires handling proprietary and strategic content with discretion.

Requirements

 Knowledge and Skills Needed:

Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in multimedia production, digital storytelling, or related field.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Media Encoder).

Working knowledge of audio editing software and video codecs, frame rates, and digital media formats.

Experience supporting livestream or hybrid event production.

Strong narrative and visual storytelling skills.

Knowledge of social media and digital video platforms.

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Interest in foreign policy, geopolitics, and transatlantic affairs preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
