Job Title:Multimedia Content HostDepartment:Administration and Planning | WOSU Television Content-JM

Serves as the primary onair personality for WOSU TV's weekly series, Columbus Neighborhoods, acting as an engaging storyteller, community ambassador, and guide through Central Ohio's history, culture, neighborhoods, and people. This position requires a strong oncamera presence, excellent interviewing abilities, and the journalistic skill to introduce segments, conduct conversations, and help viewers understand complex local issues with clarity and warmth. The host collaborates closely with the WOSU TV content team to develop story concepts, shape scripts, and introduce stories, ensuring each episode reflects thoughtful storytelling, community engagement, and a deep knowledge of the Columbus region.


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in multimedia production.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience on-camera hosting or public speaking required. Strong oral communication, public speaking, and improvisational skills required. Good on-camera presence and the willingness to be flexible with a schedule. Multimedia production experience preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Microsoft TEAMS.

50% - On Camera Hosting: Records and helps write weekly host wraps.

20% - Guest Interviews: Research background information, prepares engaging questions, and conducts live or pre-recorded interviews with local talent.

20% - Content Collaboration: Works alongside producers, writers, and directors to brainstorm segment ideas, writes scripts, and produces story materials.

10% - Promotional Duties: Records content to promote series, along with representation of WOSU at local events.
