MTSS Coordinator

Description:

MTSS (RTI) Team Member; MTSS (RTI) Coordinator

Response to Intervention is one component of the district's  Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. RTI is an instructional framework that includes universal screening of all students, multiple tiers of instruction and support services, and an integrated data collection and assessment system to inform decisions at each tier of instruction.  

Job Duties: 

RTI team members will work with their building administrator to complete the following:

  • Actively participates in the problem solving process to identify / recommend interventions and resources differentiated by area of academic need
  • Formally meet at least twice per month outside of contracted hours for a minimum of one hour per meeting, maintaining 75% attendance rate
  • Use Mansfield City Schools MTSS Handbook to implement MTSS Structure and assigned roles
  • Provide training for use of and implementation of interventions, resources, and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with and provide feedback to TBTs, BLT, PBIS, Administration, and Special Education Leadership
  • Engage staff with a structured literacy certification process as needed in MTSS.
  • Assist/support the monitoring of student data at all 3 tiers of MTSS. 
School Teams

Each school will have one coordinator and the number of team members allotted below.  Buildings may elect to have less than the allotted team members. Having more than the allocated team members requires written consent from the superintendent.

  • Sherman Elementary:  1 Coordinator +  7 Team Members = 8
  • Malabar Intermediate:   1 Coordinator +  7 Team Members = 8
  • Mansfield Middle:   1 Coordinator + 3 Team Members = 4
  • Mansfield Senior High:  1 Coordinator + 5 Team Members = 6
  • Spanish Immersion:   1 Coordinator + 3 Team Members = 4
  • Springmill STEM:  1 Coordinator + 3 Team Members = 4

Note:  In order to meet Dyslexia requirements, teams should work to have at least one member who has completed or is in the process of completing an approved  Structured Literacy Certification process. Reference: STRUCTURED LITERACY CERTIFICATION PROCESS
