Job description

Position: .Net Developer w/MS Access Contract Duration: 2.5 Years Need local and any ex state exp(Maryland candidate will give us PO) Any visa but no h1 Interview: Virtual via MS Teams Work Location: 100% onsite in Baltimore for the first two weeks. After initial two weeks, hybrid schedule with three days of telework. Must live within a four (4) hour commute time to the State Highway Administration (SHA) office, should they need to be called in for unscheduled office time Duties/Skills: Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features. Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes - either individually or in concert with a project team. Will assist in the most difficult support problems. Develops .NET programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. Has in-depth knowledge of .NET programming language and object-oriented approach in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs. Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies. Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business. Strong understanding in design of MS Access database tools, relational databases for medium sized applications. Skilled in creating complex queries, forms and outputs using MS Access. Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience. Qualifications:
  • Five (5) years as a .NET Developer
  • Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3
  • Two (2) years of related database experience in MS Access and working knowledge of MS SQL
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail Required Skills (1 line): 5+ years of .NET development using C#/VB.NET, 2+ years of MS Access and SQL experience, strong skills in HTML5/CSS3, REST APIs, Agile methodology, and troubleshooting in hybrid state government environments.
