Location: Dallas, TX โ€” Hybrid, 2โ€“3 days onsite per week
Contract: 6 months, with possibility of extension
Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 9:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to support a Mortgage Capital Markets (MCM) technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for software development, production support, deployments, backend systems, UI development, integrations, messaging, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

This role will focus heavily on integrations between upstream and downstream systems and will involve close collaboration with senior IT leadership, developers, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong backend development and production support experience, the ability to work independently, and experience working with complex enterprise applications and integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain large-scale applications with complex integrations.
  • Develop backend systems using modern programming languages such as Java and/or Python.
  • Develop and consume Web Services and APIs.
  • Support production issues, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
  • Support application deployments and release activities.
  • Work with databases and large datasets; write, read, and execute SQL scripts.
  • Develop UI components using Angular, React, and JavaScript.
  • Work with messaging, monitoring, and integration technologies.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and build automation.
  • Work with cloud platforms and Kubernetes environments.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing and monitoring solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with IT managers, senior developers, and business teams.
  • Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in an Agile development environment.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale applications with complex integrations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python.
  • Experience developing and consuming Web Services and APIs.
  • 4+ years of experience with data technologies and databases such as:
    • PostgreSQL
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Oracle
    • Apache NiFi
    • Apache Kafka
    • Elasticsearch
  • Strong SQL scripting and experience working with large datasets.
  • 2+ years of experience with frontend technologies including Angular, React, and JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD and build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of experience with test automation, including SRE monitoring and synthetic monitoring.
  • Strong production support, troubleshooting, and deployment experience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor''''''''''''''''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in Mortgage Capital Markets (MCM).
  • Experience with job scheduling and orchestration tools such as CRON, Tidal, or Airflow.
  • Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.
  • Experience with performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Financial services or banking experience.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior software developer with strong backend development, enterprise integration, cloud/Kubernetes, and production support experience. Mortgage Capital Markets experience is highly preferred, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
