Job description

Summary/Objective
At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, the primary focus of the Mortgage Operations Assistant is to assist Mortgage Operations from application to loan closing and beyond. They must play an integral part in providing loan processing assistance, closing coordination and basic servicing support.
This is accomplished through:

Essential Functions

Loan Processing Support:
1. Input and review mortgage applications submitted and organizing the income, assets, credit and collecting needed documentation in preparation for underwriting and processing
2. Assist loan processors by collecting borrower documents and updating files
3. Maintain timely communication with members in a professional and friendly manner
4. Make contact and respond promptly to member inquiries to collect borrower financial and credit information
5. Inform borrowers on future loan documentation requests, including borrowers' income and asset information
6. Daily Pipeline Management - Review every loan in the pipeline daily and work with the processing team for any updates to ensure that the anticipated closing date is never missed on loans in the pipeline
7. Actively reach out to inform the borrower regarding their loans and document all communication
8. Review all loan package documentation for discrepancies, omissions, and income calculation and then report any discrepancies to the Loan Officer
9. Scanning in and uploading documents into origination or core systems
10. Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
11. Ensure loans follow program guidelines and compliance standards

Closing Coordination:
1. Work closely with Mortgage Loan closer to verify documentation in file.
2. Work closely with vendor parties to schedule closings
3. Track signed closing documents and assist with loan funding
4. Organize completed closing packages for post QC review

Loan Servicing Support:
1. Respond to borrower questions regarding escrows, payments and loan information
2. Assist with insurance renewals, payoff requests and general servicing updates
3. Maintain digital files for uploading to Core imaging system

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend considerable time sitting at a desk, completing work using a computer, regularly answers phone calls and interacts with employees at all levels of the organization. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. While normal hours of work and days for R.I.A. Federal Credit Union are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., hours for this position reflect administrative attendance, but may vary based on job related requirements.

Travel
Less than 10% travel.

Education and Experience
1. Associates Degree or commensurate work experience, required.
2. 1-2 years of financial experience, preferred.
