What You'll Do:
The AVP of Mortgage Operations is responsible for supervising select functions within the Mortgage Operations Department with a primary focus on the following: Processing, Underwriting, and Closing. Oversee the daily operations within these functional areas, to ensure staffing and workflow efficiencies are continuously improving to meet and exceed industry standards and member and business partner experiences. Work closely with the VP Mortgage Operations Management to ensure their employees are performing as expected and works collaboratively to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Production and Pipeline Management.
  • Ensure that underwriting and processing functions and positions are meeting or achieving industry-standard in volume, units, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensure staffing levels are sufficient to maintain maximum workflow while achieving established goals and objectives.
  • Assist with preparation and reporting of monthly performance metrics.
  • Manufacturing Quality
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and policies are developed in a uniform manner, maintained in a central location, and are accessible to all team members.
  • Develop and maintain a formalized, structured, comprehensive training program to ensure the mortgage department is kept current with regulatory changes, industry standards, compliance, systems, quality control, and operational standards.
  • Develop and maintain HMDA reporting practices and procedures to maintain necessary regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for QA High Findings %
  • Customer Satisfaction and Experience.
  • Ensure all market functions are performed to a high standard in collaboration with investors, vendors, and applicable departments and business units.
  • Monitor and Improve/maintain Customer Stat.
  • Responsible for closing times.
  • Personnel Management and Support.
  • Responsible for managing the underwriting and processing departments and related day-to-day back-office mortgage operations in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and coaching team members; planning, assigning, and directing work volume; performance evaluation, rewards, and recognition; and assisting with issues and their resolution.
  • Ensure the teams meet on a regular basis for recognition and to discuss objectives and performance goals, including frequent collaboration with closing, support desk, and sales teams.
  • Ensure all job responsibilities are crossed trained and we have a backup for each team member and area.
  • Responsible for Employee Engagement initiatives and results.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of supervisory/management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of mortgage lending, servicing, or operational policies and practices
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience in mortgage servicing or operations activities
  • Advanced Computer Skills

Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this role is $71,000 - $92,000, along with eligibility to earn a quarterly bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
