Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented mortgage professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? As a Mortgage Closing Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring residential mortgage loans are closed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines. You'll partner closely with loan officers, processors, title companies, and internal teams to coordinate the final stages of the lending process, preparing closing packages, balancing closing disclosures, and ensuring every loan is ready for a successful closing.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to deliver an exceptional customer experience while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of mortgage closing or secondary market mortgage experience preferred
  • Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, and NIFA loans is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage closing documentation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple loan files while meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic accounting and math proficiency
  • Experience with Encompass and Navigator is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based software
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review mortgage closing documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Assemble compliant secondary market loan closing packages
  • Coordinate loan closing schedules and ensure deadlines are met
  • Prepare and balance Closing Disclosures with title companies
  • Enter loan information into the service platform and assist with loan funding
  • Resolve documentation issues and discrepancies prior to closing
  • Process checks and wire transfers as needed
  • Communicate loan requirements with loan officers, processors, and title companies
  • Ensure all documentation complies with investor and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist other mortgage department team members as needed
