Job description


As a Security Officer - Full Time Overnight Patrol in Escondido, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with exceptional customer service and communication. This role offers the chance to work in a caring, fast-paced environment where teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity come first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with staff and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, assist with wayfinding and visitor interactions, and support hospital personnel with security-related concerns and/or non-emergency requests.
  • Observe and report hazards, suspicious behavior, and policy violations, and provide clear, courteous guidance during high-traffic periods, after-hours activity, and/or emergency situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience working in a hospital morgue is required.
  • Ability to restrain individuals in a hospital setting is required.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
