Provides direct patient care in the acute care departments. Communicates with physicians, nurses and other staff about patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient's condition. Additionally, is cross trained to perform general nursing duties in other departments and may be asked to do any reasonable job duty within scope of practice.

Experience Requirements

Six months nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Licensure / Certification Requirements
  • Current Texas RN license or RN Compact licensure and current CPR certification required.
  • ALCS Certification required or must be obtained within first year of employment.
  • Departmental requirements are as follows:
    • OB - NRP required or obtained within first year
    • Med/Surg/ICU - PALS required or obtained within first year.
    • ED - TNCC, ENPC or PALS required or obtained within first year.
Other Requirements

Knowledge of applicable regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
