What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Monday-Friday Nurse, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Monday-Friday Nurse, you need solid clinical knowledge, strong patient assessment skills, and an active RN or LPN license. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), scheduling software, and standard medical equipment is typically required. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities are vital for managing routine patient care and collaborating with colleagues. These skills ensure efficient, high-quality care delivery during regular business hours, supporting both patient outcomes and healthcare team effectiveness.

What are the typical work hours and patient caseload for a Monday-Friday Nurse, and how does this impact work-life balance?

A Monday-Friday Nurse usually works standard weekday shifts, often from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., which differs from the traditional rotating or weekend hospital schedules. This schedule typically allows for a more predictable work-life balance and regular personal time on evenings and weekends. Patient caseloads can vary depending on the healthcare setting—such as clinics, outpatient centers, or schools—but generally, the pace is steady and focused on follow-up care, preventive services, or chronic disease management. Working closely with physicians, administrative staff, and other nurses, Monday-Friday Nurses often participate in team meetings and coordinated care, enhancing collaboration and professional development.

Job description

Caregiver / Personal Care Attendant (PCA) - Monday-Friday Evenings
Location: Senior Living Community Northeast Heights, Albuquerque, NM
Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Make a Difference Every Shift
Heritage Home Healthcare is looking for a compassionate, dependable Caregiver / Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to join our team at a senior living community in Albuquerque's Northeast Heights.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with seniors while working a consistent weekday evening schedule with no weekend shifts. You'll provide personalized care that helps residents remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they call home.
Unlike traditional one-on-one home care, this position allows you to care for residents in one senior living community. Throughout your shift, you'll provide scheduled visits to multiple residents, typically spending 15 to 30 minutes with each individual, with time between visits to complete documentation and prepare for your next resident.
What You'll Do
As a member of our caregiving team, you will:
  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and other activities of daily living.
  • Provide mobility assistance, including transfers between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
  • Follow individualized care plans and delegated nursing instructions.
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
  • Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Escort or transport residents to appointments or errands when needed.
  • Accurately document care provided and communicate with the clinical team.
  • Deliver compassionate, respectful, and efficient care to multiple residents during scheduled visits.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional care.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable caring for multiple residents throughout the shift.
  • A strong communicator who works well with residents, families, and team members.
  • In possession of reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous caregiving experience.
  • CNA certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.

If you have a passion for caring for others and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply-even if you don't meet every preferred qualification.

  • Consistent Monday-Friday evening schedule
