Mold Technician Position Overview
The Mold Technician will be primarily responsible for machine Set-Up in a fast pace and highly collaborative environment. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of molds to produce high-quality parts efficiently.
Mold Technician Essential Functions
  • Machine set-up and controls.
  • Crane operation.
  • Lift operation.
  • Prepare molds for scheduled jobs.
  • Change inserts as needed.
  • Change date code as needed.
  • Ensure knockouts are proper length and pattern.
  • Check water lines.
  • Prepare thermolater and set temperatures as needed.
  • Set clamp tonnage as needed.
  • Set core pull sequence as needed.
  • Set mold protection.
  • Verify nozzle and orifice are of proper size.
  • Set safety drop bar as needed.
  • Purge barrel as needed.
  • Prepare molds for storage by cleaning, removing water and spraying with rust protectant.
  • Troubleshooting of molding machines that are running.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as determined by Supervisor.

Mold Technician Required Experience
  • Practical experience in mold setup, operation, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with various types of molds and molding machines.
  • Technical proficiency in mold setup and operation.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Attention to detail for quality control.
