Location: New York City (In-office 4 days per week, 1 day remote)

Company Overview:
Dana-co, a leading design company specializing in luxury intimate apparel, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support our design team throughout the design process. This position is in-office, requiring the candidate to work four days per week onsite in our New York City office, with an option for one remote day. The ideal candidate will have experience in intimate apparel (specifically bras), a keen awareness of current fashion trends, and a solid understanding of the design process. This role will involve assisting with product development, presentations, fittings, and communication with both internal and external teams.

Job Requirements:
This position requires the candidate to work onsite at least four days per week in our New York City office.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Design with a concentrationin lingerie design, with a focus on bras.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics qualities, and production processes to design production feasible products.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing elevated taste level and a range of bra designs from concept to production.
  • Organized, systematic, and structured working style, with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Working/General knowledge ofLectrafor basic pattern review
  • Understanding of industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed on current fashion trends and key retail stores carrying our brands.
  • Assist the design team in developing boards and presentations for meetings.
  • Meet all calendar due dates for presentations and deliverables.
  • Assist in updating essential documents like Fit Notes, Fit Photo Pages, Style Summary Sheets, and Features & Benefits pages.
  • Create tech packs for new styles and set up specs (including sketches, construction details, BOM, measurements, etc.).
  • Assist in the development and follow-up of product communication with factories, ensuring timely updates.
  • Track all incoming proto sample emails and ensure proper addition to the fit list.
  • Coordinate model fittings, including scheduling and communicating with relevant parties.
  • Maintain the active model chart and liaise with model agencies.
  • Measure garments as needed and follow up with the team to share updated proto photos.
  • Attend model fittings, take detailed photos and precise notes
  • Assist with sending and distributing packages
  • Assist with dressing models for market week appointments
  • Ensure timely and organized communication with the team and other departments.
  • Follow company processes to maintain organized files and archives.
