Job description

Job Description:
ABOUT SPARKLIGHT
At Sparklight, we connect people to what matters most: at home, at work, and on the go. We are on a growth journey to transform connectivity across our communities with innovative internet, mobile, and digital lifestyle solutions. Mobile is a core pillar of that strategy, and this role sits at the center of it.
We are open to hiring remote if we find the right talent in any of the following states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Sparklight Mobile is growing, and we are building the team that will take it to the next level. We are looking for a Director, Mobile & Converged Services who has actually built and operated a mobile business, not just managed one inside a large organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has launched MVNOs, architected activation and onboarding systems, managed MNO and MVNE relationships from the commercial side, and understands how to scale a mobile subscriber base in a competitive market. You will own the Sparklight Mobile product roadmap end to end and lead the development of converged offers that bundle mobile with our broadband, streaming, and connected home portfolio.
If you have spent your career inside a large carrier and are looking to manage an established team with well-defined lanes, this role is probably not the right fit. If you are a builder who thrives in resource-efficient environments, moves fast, and can flex across product strategy, partner management, operations, and commercial execution simultaneously, we want to talk.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
Mobile Product Portfolio
  • Own plans, pricing, packaging, promotions, and the full device compatibility and onboarding experience across eSIM, physical SIM, and BYOD flows.

  • Lead activation flow design, port-in success optimization, and customer lifecycle management.

  • Define and enforce fraud prevention, eligibility rules, and operational guardrails.

Product Vision & Roadmap
  • Define the product vision and multi-quarter roadmap for Sparklight Mobile and convergence initiatives.

  • Build and own business cases, financial models, and investment recommendations for mobile product decisions.

  • Drive adoption and household penetration through bundling strategies that connect mobile with broadband, streaming, and connected home.

Partner & Ecosystem Management
  • Own commercial relationships with MVNE partners, carrier partners, and device ecosystem providers.

  • Lead platform enhancement negotiations and roadmap alignment with external partners.

  • Manage partner readiness for new product launches and capability expansions.

Performance & Growth
  • Own and improve key mobile KPIs: attach rates, activation success, port-in completion, ARPU, and churn.

  • Analyze market trends and competitive positioning to keep Sparklight Mobile relevant and differentiated.

  • Serve as the voice of the mobile customer internally, ensuring the product delivers meaningful, differentiated value.

Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, CX, Billing, Engineering, and Digital to ensure clean product launches and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate with the Mobile Operations Manager to translate product strategy into reliable day-to-day execution.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
  • Direct MVNO or MVNE operating experience. You have built or run a mobile business, not just supported one as part of a large carrier team.

  • 7+ years of product management or product leadership experience in wireless, telecom, or a closely adjacent field.

  • Hands-on experience with eSIM provisioning, digital activation flows, and BYOD onboarding.

  • Demonstrated success growing a mobile subscriber base from an early or mid-stage baseline.

  • Experience managing MNO and MVNE commercial relationships, including contract negotiations and roadmap alignment.

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to build and defend business cases independently.

  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and the ability to influence across all levels without formal authority.

Strongly Preferred
  • Background in converged connectivity products that bundle mobile with broadband, streaming, or connected home services.

  • Experience at an MVNO that operated in a resource-constrained, high-growth environment.

  • Familiarity with the cable/broadband operator landscape and its strategic intersection with mobile.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Sparklight Mobile attach rates grow meaningfully within the first 12 months.

  • A competitive mobile product roadmap is in place, actively maintained, and clearly prioritized.

  • Mobile and broadband convergence bundles are launched and contributing to measurable improvements in household retention and ARPU.

  • Activation experience, port-in completion, and digital onboarding are measurably improved.

  • MVNE and carrier partner relationships are strengthened and operating with clear roadmap alignment.

  • Sparklight Mobile is viewed internally and externally as a credible, growing, differentiated wireless offering.

ABOUT THE TEAM & CULTURE
Sparklight is a company on the move. We are not a startup, but we operate with a startup sensibility in our growth initiatives, including mobile. You will have the backing of an established broadband brand and infrastructure while operating with the urgency and ownership mindset of an early-stage team. This role will have direct visibility to senior leadership and meaningful autonomy to shape the direction of one of Sparklight's most strategic growth areas.
Core Competencies
Committed: Values each customer, while working hard to keep their business and support our communities.
Helpful: Delivers support in the ways that are most useful to our customers and addresses their needs with expertise, respect, and empathy.
Proactive: Understand what our customers need, and actively works to make their relationship with use seamless, easy, and rewarding.
Personal: Knows our customers well, and tailors our communications and interactions to address their needs and expectations.

  • Paid time off (vacation, holiday, and personal/sick days)
  • 401(k) - 100% company match starts day 1 of employment (up to 5% of eligible compensation)
  • Group Legal plan with Identity Theft Protection

Additional Perks
  • Tuition reimbursement (up to $5,250 on 1st year)
  • Annual community support to various organizations across the U.S.
  • Associate recognition & awards programs
  • Advancement opportunities
  • Collaborative work environment
  • FREE Cable One services for associates who live in a serviceable area
  • Remote Access to select premium channels (Cable One, Sparklight, Cable America and ValuNet Fiber Only)
