About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Seasonal CDL Truck Driver to deliver lumber and building materials to residential and commercial jobsites.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding position that involves much more than driving from one location to another. Drivers are responsible for inspecting, securing, delivering, and unloading materials while providing professional service to customers and jobsite personnel.
What You'll Do

  • Safely operate Class A or Class B commercial vehicles.
  • Deliver lumber and building materials to residential and commercial jobsites.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, Moffett equipment, and manual labor as required.
  • Inspect materials for accuracy, quality, and damage before delivery.
  • Properly secure loads and comply with all DOT and company safety requirements.
  • Pick up and load returned materials from customer locations.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain required logs, delivery records, and other paperwork.
  • Communicate with dispatch using mobile applications, smartphones, or tablets.
  • Navigate active jobsites and adjust to changing delivery conditions.
  • Represent Koopman Lumber professionally with customers, contractors, and jobsite personnel.
  • Assist with additional delivery and yard responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Valid Class B CDL or higher; Class A CDL preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts Hoisting 1A License required.
  • Acceptable driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements.
  • Experience operating Moffett equipment and forklifts is strongly preferred.
  • Building materials or jobsite delivery experience is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
  • Ability to use smartphones or tablets for routing and communication.
  • Ability to perform sustained physical work throughout the shift.
  • Dependable attendance and a professional attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds independently.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and material handling.
  • Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, Moffett equipment, and other delivery equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings and maintain a valid DOT medical certification.
