CDL Truck Driver (Class A or B) - Lumber & Building Materials

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Pembroke, MA
Reports To: Store Manager / Dispatch

Koopman Lumber is hiring an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or Class B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial jobsites. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role - not just driving from point A to point B. Drivers are expected to load, unload, handle returns, and work outdoors in all seasons.

What You'll Do

  • Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials
  • Load and unload your own truck using forklifts, Moffett, and manual labor as required
  • Deliver to active jobsites and load returns from customer locations
  • Secure loads properly and inspect materials for accuracy and condition
  • Communicate with dispatch using mobile apps or tablets
  • Complete required logs, inspections, and delivery paperwork
  • Represent Koopman Lumber professionally with customers and jobsite personnel
  • This role requires physical effort and problem-solving - it's not dock-to-dock driving.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B
  • Hoisting License (H-1C preferred)
  • Experience operating Moffett and forklifts strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
  • Physically fit and capable of sustained, heavy work
  • Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service
  • Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for routing and communication

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift 80 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs independently
  • Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and material handling
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
