At Armour Lumber Mill, uptime isn't optional. Our rolling stock mobile equipment mechanics play a critical role in keeping operations safe, reliable, and moving. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy mobile equipment that supports daily mill operations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on rolling stock and mobile equipment
    (e.g., forklifts, loaders, skid steers, utility vehicles, yard equipment)

  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel engine systems

  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards

  • Troubleshoot breakdowns and minimize operational downtime

  • Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of industrial or heavy equipment mechanical experience

  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals

  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities

  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to breakdowns as needed

MUST-HAVE (Non-Negotiables)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime to support 24/7 operations
  • Ability to follow all West Fraser safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working in an industrial mill environment (heat, noise, dust)
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and physical
