What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mobile Bartender, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Mobile Bartender, you need expertise in mixology, drink preparation, and cash handling, typically supported by bartending experience or certification and often a valid alcohol server permit. Familiarity with portable bar setups, POS systems, and compliance with local alcohol regulations is essential. Exceptional customer service, adaptability, and strong organizational skills help you stand out in dynamic and diverse event environments. These competencies ensure efficient service, legal compliance, and memorable guest experiences, which are crucial for success in mobile bartending.

What are some common challenges faced when working at a mobile bar, and how can they be managed?

Working at a mobile bar often means adapting to different event locations, which can present challenges such as limited space, varying utilities, and unpredictable weather. To manage these, it's important to be proactive in planning—arriving early to set up, bringing essential portable equipment, and having contingency plans for outdoor events. Strong communication and teamwork are also crucial, as the crew needs to coordinate efficiently in dynamic environments to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.

What is a mobile bar?

A mobile bar is a portable setup that provides bar services at various events and locations, such as weddings, parties, corporate gatherings, and festivals. Unlike stationary bars, mobile bars can be customized and transported to different venues, offering a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Mobile bars are popular for adding a unique, flexible, and personalized touch to events.

Staff Mobile Engineer

Giga AI Inc

Job description

This role is on-site in San Francisco in the Dogpatch neighborhood.
About Giga
Giga has recently raised a $61M Series A and is working with Fortune 500 customers to deploy the next generation of customer experience - real-time AI agents that can understand emotion, resolve issues instantly, and scale across the world's largest enterprises.
Industry leaders like DoorDash trust Giga with their most complex support and operations workflows across voice, chat, and email, in high-stakes regulated environments where accuracy and compliance matter. We're at an exciting inflection point.
While we've found real commercial success, our ambitions are larger: to become the go-to AI platform for all enterprise automation, powered by our voice superintelligence. The work affects millions of people every day, and our team has the autonomy to make true impact - with brilliant founders, a clear path forward, and the kind of momentum that defines generational companies.
If being part of that resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you!
  • Voice AI startup Giga raises $61M Series A
  • DoorDash and Giga Partnership

The Role
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to own our iOS and Android SDKs what our customers use to embed Giga's chat and voice agents into their mobile apps. You'll lead the technical direction for how our agents show up on mobile, making architectural decisions around UI surfaces, animations, voice interactions, and performance that raise the bar for engineering quality across the team.
This is a role for someone who wants to build, not just advise. You'll write code, own the iOS and/or Android mobile infrastructure, and ship, but you'll also be expected to think beyond your immediate work. Working closely with design and our web frontend team, you'll identify what mobile experiences we should be building next and ensure our native integrations feel as considered and cohesive as our core product.
What You'll Work On
You'll drive the technical direction for how Giga agents live on mobile devices. Some examples of what you'll own:
  • Mobile SDK architecture: Leading the design, implementation, and evolution of our native iOS and Android SDKs. You'll make the core architectural tradeoffs required to embed our voice and chat agents seamlessly into customer apps.
  • Deep OS integrations: Pushing the boundaries of what native mobile can do. You will own how our agents interact with iOS / Android capabilities like voice routing, background execution, notifications, and app extensions so the agent feels truly "at home" on the device.
  • UI & performance excellence: Sweating the details on motion, gesture handling, and accessibility. You'll set the bar for mobile quality, ensuring our interfaces boast smooth animations, zero latency, and resilient offline behavior.

Tech Stack
  • Mobile: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android)
  • Backend: Python (Django/FastAPI), TypeScript (Node.js)
  • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js (you'll interact with this when needed)
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Modal, Kubernetes, Postgres

You Might Be a Fit If You
  • Have 8+ years of native iOS (Swift) engineering experience, with a track record of shipping complex apps or SDKs at scale
  • Have strong opinions on clean SDK and API design, and deeply empathize with the external developers who will integrate your work
  • Can take a vague product requirement and turn it into a fluid, responsive mobile experience without much guidance
  • Possess deep UX sensitivity-you sweat the details on motion, gesture ergonomics, and accessibility to make interfaces feel "just right"
  • Understand the depths of iOS and can push platform-native capabilities (like voice routing, background execution, and app extensions) to their limits
  • Want to be hands-on at a company where senior engineers ship code, not just review it
  • Are comfortable occasionally crossing the stack (e.g., GraphQL, Go) to unblock yourself and fine-tune end-to-end flows

Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive base + bonus + equity
  • Catered lunch daily
  • Dinner stipend
  • $500/month wellness & commuter benefit (gym, fitness classes, mental health)
  • 401(k) plan
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

Giga is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
