Common Ground is looking for a Master level licensed clinician to be a Mobile Crisis Clinician on the Oakland Collaborative Crisis Response (OCCR) team. This position will work from the Bingham Farms location to serve Oakland County.ย 
As a member of OCCR team, a crisis response team engaged in mobile crisis response, the Mobile Crisis Clinician partners with Crisis Support Specialists. Together, they respond in-person to crisis calls in Oakland County that cannot be resolved through the Crisis Hub via phone. This position will utilize best practices in crisis intervention in behavioral health (mental health and substance use) prevention and postvention crisis services, education, crisis stabilization services, short-term treatment (i.e. strength-based crisis therapy, cognitive-behavioral interventions, mindfulness approaches, anger management, and coping skills), and follow up services until connected to an ongoing services provider. The team serves children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families as well as schools, neighborhoods, organizations and businesses by providing up to 30 days of in-home crisis counseling to people in crisis to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behavior. The OCCR team is supported by the resources of a crisis center, partnerships with local Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), and the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC), all of which includes Psychiatrists and Nurses, as well as a continuum of crisis services for which the Mobile Crisis Clinician has access. Current Openings

  • Full-Time, 36 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, 8a - 8p.
  • Full-Time, 36 hours per week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8p - 8a.

Compensation

  • Limited Master-Level License: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.
  • Full Master-Level License: $34.00 - $39.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Drive agency vehicle (or own personal vehicle) to community locations to respond to crisis calls
  • Maintain reliable personal vehicle to drive to and from shifts and occasionally within the community
  • Respond swiftly to crisis calls by utilizing GPS to navigate the community, aligning with program response times
  • Conduct curbside safety assessments to identify potential risks and safety concerns for individuals or families in crisis, including risks of self-harm or harm to othersย 
  • Arrange or provide transportation, using an agency vehicle when appropriate to ensure individuals are safely transported to designated locationsย 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all crisis interventions, assessments, and interactions with individuals served, utilizing strong typing skills to efficiently record information in real timeย 
  • Submit all electronic or hard copy documents that are complete, accurate, and signed prior to end of shift
  • Use Crisis Theory to provide short-term interventions to people in order to facilitate immediate stabilization of emotions and behaviorย 
  • Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting in distress
  • Collaborate with individuals/families and their support systems to develop safety plans and identify coping strategies for managing future crises
  • Educate and assist significant others and family members with the petitioning process, as needed
  • Complete mobile assessments of crisis situations and person/familyโ€™s needs
  • Collaborate with local mental health agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, and other community resources to facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up care
  • Act as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person/family includingย service providers and community agents
  • Comply with federal, state, county, and agency regulations governing Intensive Crisis Stabilization and the delivery of specialty services and supportsย 
  • Provide first aid and emergency procedures, as needed

Qualifications

Education
  • Masterโ€™s degree in the Human Service field
Licensure
  • Active, unrestricted Michigan clinical license (e.g., LLMSW, LCSW/LMSW, LLPC, LPC, MLP) required.
  • All Limited License Master Social Workers (LLMSW), Limited License Professional Counselors (LLPC), and Temporary Limited License Psychologists (TLLP) must receive their permanent license (LMSW, LPC, LLP) within 5 years from the issue date of the original limited/temporary license as published in the State of Michigan LARA system in order to continue their employment
Experienceย 
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with people with mental health, substance use and/or developmental disabilities, including children, adolescents, and families
  • Experience working in crisis intervention or emergency mental health services
  • Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children
  • Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
  • Mobile crisis response, strongly preferred
Certifications
  • Valid Michigan driverโ€™s license, clean driving record regarding eligibility for insurability under Common Ground's insurance policy
  • Meets criteria as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) defined by the State of Michigan
  • Meets criteria as a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) defined by the state of Michigan
  • Meets criteria as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) defined by the state of Michigan
