Job Description

The Vice President of Finance and Facilities serves as the Chief Finance Officer of the college and provides vision, leadership, and strategic direction for college-wide financial planning and fiscal operations, physical plants, auxiliary enterprises, risk management, and oversight of capital construction aligned with the strategic goals of the college. This position serves on the President's Cabinet and Leadership Team and reports directly to the College President. As a senior leader of the college, this position exercises significant discretion and provides critical input to the president on key college issues and opportunities.

The successful Vice President will be defined by colleagues as a trusted advisor who demonstrates inclusiveness and service to others. The person should have integrity, humility and an inviting demeanor which leverages the deep trusted relationships existing across the college community and exercises the strength of the Vice President's team. Consistent with the college's mission, this leader will demonstrate a strong commitment to the value of belonging among students, faculty and staff, as well as sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, gender identity, and sexual orientation of students and the talent serving the college. The successful incumbent will have the ability to anchor all decisions on programs and services around "what's best for students". The Vice President work together with colleagues to create a strong sense of fiscal accountability across the college and to create an atmosphere of consultation, trust, and respect in which all can succeed.

Salary Range:

$111,311.00 - $177,420.00*

*Salary at the time of hire will be dependent upon any changes to the salary grids from the plan agreement for administrators. (Estimated salary $114,094.00 - $181,856.00)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, Public Administration, related field or related licensing.

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative/supervisory experience in a medium to large organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial management and to accurately forecast financial positioning.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues in a straightforward manner and work effectively across departments.

  • Possess technical knowledge to collect, analyze, and solve complex situations.

  • Possess short and long-term operational and strategic planning skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusiveness, transparency and shared governance in leadership and decision making.

  • A proven record of prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks with significant timeline pressures.

Preferred Qualification

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

  • Experience in higher education, government entity, financial sector and/or public-sector entities

  • Experience working effectively and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in planning, budgeting, and implementation of strategic initiatives.

  • Experience managing fiscal services, administrative services and a variety of auxiliary services or enterprises.

  • Evidence of ingenuity and initiative to provide sound business leadership in support of innovative educational practices.

  • Experience with facilities master planning, capital budget requests and building construction activities.

  • Successful management of large capital renovation and building projects

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and core values of a comprehensive two-year college.

  • Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.

  • Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
