Job Summary:
Ameriship Parcel Delivery is a medical overnight and courier delivery service in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Georgia, and Illinois. We are the leader in Texas for pharmacy delivery. We are recruiting for a General Manager to work at our Tampa, FL office. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake logistics, manage the office, and work diligently under pressure.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers.
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching new drivers and your staff.
  • Responsible for overseeing routing, sorting, operations loading and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management.
  • Delivering and picking up packages daily.
  • Create and updates driver notes in Ameriship’s system to ensuring accuracy and validity of information related to deliveries, re-attempts, and missed deliveries.
  • Drive consistent operational performance with a focus on service and cost.
  • Monitor mis deliveries and develop avoidance strategies for your office.
  • Manages and organizes general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands.
  • Forecast workload for 2 – 3 days out.
  • Lead and manage hourly personnel and contractors.
  • Manage resources to cover staff absence & workload capabilities.
  • Responsible for managing disciplinary issues in line with company policies.
  • Schedules and directs the work activity for drivers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency of data in the system.
  • Create and assign work schedules. Maintain proper staffing to support operations based on freight volumes.
  • 1-3 years of experience in any of the following areas: material flow, warehouse/logistics, transportation management, and materials handling
  • Ability to interact with Logistics team and vendors.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving
  • Self-Motivated and Resourceful
  • Able to Prioritize and Multi-Task
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Self-directed and able to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable and knowledgeable with Technology and Computers

Education and Experience:

  • Management: 2-3 years (Preferred)
  • Logistics: 2-3 years (Preferred)
