Job description

Description
The University of Oklahoma (OU), invites applications to fill one tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the MIS division starting in the Fall of 2027. Our strong programs in the MIS division build on a history of excellence, distinguished faculty, and active industry partnerships. The division offers an undergraduate major and minor in MIS, graduate programs in Business Analytics, both in-person and online, and a Ph.D. degree. It operates the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), an industry-academic partnership that brings together faculty and business partners to collaborate on research and curriculum development. The division has an active MIS Student Association, provides sizable student scholarships annually, and enjoys strong support from the university and industry partners. Faculty members are world-renowned, engaged in thriving research programs, generate external research funding, hold leadership positions in leading journals and conferences, and are outstanding teachers. Many opportunities exist for professional growth and recognition as an MIS faculty member and a member of OU's Michael F. Price College of Business. The University of Oklahoma is classified as an R1, Very High Research University by the Carnegie Foundation, generates substantial research funding, and has a growing number of endowed faculty chairs and professorships. Norman, where the main campus is located, is a culturally rich and vibrant town just outside Oklahoma City and close to other major cities.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in Management Information Systems [AD1] or a closely related discipline, or be on track to complete their PhD by the position start date. ABD candidates and faculty currently in an assistant professor position at another institution are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate strong potential for excellence in both research and teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who are prepared to teach general MIS classes (e.g., Databases, Intro to MIS), classes on cybersecurity, AI, and data analytics at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
