Job description
Phoenix Defense is currently seeking applicants for Instructor, Operator, Maintainer II positions supporting the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position shall provide support for equipment deployment, including installation, removal, and repair of training equipment. This position will provide Train-the-Trainer instruction on Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) usage, installation, troubleshooting, and sustainment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Instructor, Operator, Maintainer II position will perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance IAW technical guidelines and equipment specifications ensuring proper functionality and safe operating conditions
- Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve routine electrical, mechanical, and computer issues by interpreting. manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
- Performs inventory of spare/repair parts IAW contractual guidelines
- Ensuring paperwork and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Read/interpret schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance
- Perform PMCS, troubleshooting and isolate faults
- Install various ground Training Engagement Systems (TES) on military vehicles to include CV TESS, CVS, ITAS TESS, IWS, IWS/2, MAJIK, MILES 2K, MK-19, SAAF, SLM, STRYKER, TVS, UCD, VTESS and WITS
- Research and select repair parts needed to repair faults IAW technical guidelines
- Record accurate maintenance history ensuring unique corrective measures for work orders are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS)
- Apply basic technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions, perform tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment
- Take test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
- This position may require travel to other installations and other W-TRS locations
- Provide Train-the-Trainer instruction and/or technical assistance
- Provide instruction on installation, operation and removal per Government/OEM furnished TMs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience with electronics testing/troubleshooting
- Must have a valid driver’s license and On-Post driving privileges
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Must be a High School Graduate or have a GED
- Experience with Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS).
- Experience interfacing with active duty military and civil service personnel.
- Prior military experience or familiarity with Army tactical operations and training procedures.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Prior military experience or familiarity with Army tactical operations and training procedures.
- Familiarity with military live training environments such as CTCs (e.g., NTC, JRTC, JMRC, JMRC).
- Knowledge of Army doctrinal publications related to training.
