Job description

Examples of Duties Under general supervision, controls & extinguishes fires, protects life & property, & maintains all fire equipment. Receives & responds to fire alarms & other emergency calls performing the necessary functions & operations to efficiently handle any fire ground situation. Performs fire inspections & pre-fire planning.

Minor vehicle & equipment maintenance, & other related tasks as assigned. Reports to the Shift Captain and/or Indian Land Fire District within the established chain of command. This position will be stationed in Indian Land Fire District, Stations 1 or 2 with a 24hr on-duty shift schedule Typical Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent NFPA Firefighter I certification IFSAC and or Pro-board Infection Control Haz-Mat op's6 Medical first responder or South Carolina EMT Basic Vehicle Extrication ICS 100, 200 and 700 Certified Fire Academy Transcript EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER NFPA Firefighter II, Certifications in Technical Rescue Courses; Advanced Auto Extrication, Haz-Mat Tech, High Angle Rope, Confined Space, Trench and Swiftwater.
